Cytokeratin 19은 중간 필라멘트 단백질의 아형으로, 인간 상피 조직에서 최소 20개의 서로 다른 폴리펩타이드로 구성된 생화학적 다양성을 보입니다. 분자량은 40–68 kDa, 등전점은 pH 4.9–7.8 범위에 있습니다. Cytokeratin은 상피 유형 및 분화 정도에 따라 발현 패턴이 달라지며, 상피성 악성종양의 구분에 활용됩니다. 특히 Cytokeratin 19는 간세포에서 발현되지 않아 간 전이암 식별에 유용합니다.
