Target Information
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to specific cellular locations.
AKAP11 is highly expressed throughout spermatogenesis and in mature sperm. It binds the RI and RII subunits of PKA in testis and may play a role in cell cycle control of somatic and germ cells, as well as in spermatogenesis and sperm function.
