Target Information
The STX3 gene encodes a member of the syntaxin family. The protein localizes to the apical membrane of epithelial cells, forming clusters important for establishing and maintaining cell polarity. It plays a role in vesicle fusion and exocytosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
