Specificity: Recognizes the active form of human IL-18.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces IFN-gamma production in T cells.
In combination with IL-12, it inhibits IL-4 dependent IgE and IgG1 production while enhancing IgG2a production in B cells.
IL-18 binding protein can specifically interact with this cytokine to negatively regulate its biological activity.
