The Non-Human Primate SCF Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures SCF protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create your own multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously with a Luminex instrument. These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and results can be obtained in approximately four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, or other bodily fluids.

The Luminex beads used in the ProcartaPlex assay are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Similar to a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the protein of interest. Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike ELISA, the ProcartaPlex assay’s capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection is achieved using dual lasers in the Luminex instrument—one distinguishes bead signatures, and the other quantifies RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration. This enables profiling of more targets with less sample volume and time compared to traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available in multiple formats across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
