Target Information
DDR1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by collagen and regulates adhesion, cell migration, and other cellular processes. Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) play key roles in cellular communication with the microenvironment, influencing growth, differentiation, and metabolism.
The DDR1 protein is widely expressed in normal and transformed epithelial cells and activated by various collagen types (I–VI). Expression is mainly in epithelial tissues such as kidney, lung, gastrointestinal tract, and brain. It is over-expressed in several human tumors (breast, ovarian, esophageal, pediatric brain).
DDR1 gene is located on chromosome 6p21.3 near HLA class I genes and has multiple transcript variants due to alternative splicing.
