Target Information
NBL1 (Neuroblastoma suppressor of tumorigenicity 1) is a founding member of the evolutionarily conserved CAN family of proteins, containing a CTCK-like domain common in signaling molecules. These secreted proteins act as BMP antagonists by binding to BMPs and preventing receptor interaction, playing a key role in growth and development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
