Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The BCKDHA gene encodes the E1-alpha subunit of the branched-chain alpha-keto acid dehydrogenase complex (BCKD), which is involved in branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) oxidation.
The complex comprises three catalytic components:

  • A heterotetrameric (α2-β2) decarboxylase (E1)
  • A homo-24-meric dihydrolipoyl transacylase
  • A homodimeric dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase

E1 is a thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP)-dependent enzyme catalyzing the irreversible first step in BCAA oxidation.
The BCKDHB gene encodes the beta subunit of E1.
Additionally, the complex includes two regulatory enzymes, a kinase and a phosphorylase.
