Target Information
ARC is a master regulator of synaptic plasticity that self-assembles into virion-like capsids encapsulating RNAs to mediate intercellular RNA transfer in the nervous system. It regulates synaptic plasticity, long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), and memory formation. ARC promotes AMPA receptor endocytosis for synaptic scaling and neuronal homeostasis, mediates synapse elimination during development, and is involved in immune system regulation via dendritic cell migration and T-cell activation.
