Target Information

Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) is a member of the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a crucial role in brain development.
Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications of the ALK gene are associated with several tumors, including anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer.
The most common alteration is chromosomal rearrangement leading to a fusion gene between ALK (chromosome 2) and NPM (chromosome 5), producing the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein.
ALK shares significant sequence similarity with LTK and is essential for neuronal development and function.
