Target Information
Cyclins are regulatory subunits of cyclin-dependent kinases (cdks) that control transitions at specific phases of the cell cycle. Their expression is tightly regulated and plays a critical role in the enzymatic activity of cdks. Cyclin/cdk complexes are essential for progression through distinct cell cycle stages. In mammalian somatic cells, cyclin A is required for S phase and passage through G2-phase.
