UBAC1는 보편적으로 발현되는 heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) 하위군에 속합니다. hnRNPs는 RNA 결합 단백질로, heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA)와 복합체를 형성합니다. 이러한 단백질들은 핵 내 pre-mRNA 처리 및 mRNA 대사와 수송에 영향을 미치며, 일부 hnRNPs는 핵과 세포질 사이를 이동합니다. UBAC1 단백질은 RNA 결합을 위한 두 개의 RRM 도메인을 가지고 있습니다.
