Target Information
RAN binding protein 10 (RANBP10) is a cytoplasmic guanine nucleotide exchange factor that shares high sequence similarity with MET-interacting protein RANBP9. It is expressed in the cytoplasm of mature megakaryocytes and platelets, where it localizes to polymerized noncentrosomal microtubules. RANBP10 exhibits guanine nucleotide exchange factor activity toward RAN, a GTPase involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport, spindle formation during mitosis, and nuclear envelope assembly during telophase. Depletion of RANBP10 disrupts microtubule filament organization, suggesting its essential role in maintaining microtubule dynamics.
