Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and type II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 8 typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form intermediate filaments in simple epithelial tissues. It contributes to cellular structural integrity and plays roles in signal transduction and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
