This peptide corresponds to 14 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human RHBDD1.
PEP-0974 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20860.
Target Information
The Rhomboid family of proteins is composed of widely conserved polytopic membrane serine proteases involved in growth and development. RHBDD1 is highly expressed in the testis and plays a role in the cleavage of BIK, a proapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family.
Overexpression or suppression of RHBDD1 in 293 cells affects BIK-mediated apoptosis, indicating that RHBDD1 modulates apoptotic activity.
In GC-1 spermatogonia cells, suppression of RHBDD1 expression by RNAi leads to loss of survival and differentiation ability in mouse seminiferous tubules, suggesting its role in mammalian spermatogenesis.
