Target Information
HuD, also known as ELAV-like protein 4 or PNEM, is an RNA-binding protein encoded by the ELAVL4 gene located at 1p34 in humans.
HuD/ELAVL4 binds to AU-rich element-containing mRNAs, increasing transcript half-life. It is expressed exclusively in neurons and plays a key role in brain development and neuronal plasticity.
