Target Information
SEPT6 is a member of the septin family of GTPases, which are required for cytokinesis.
A reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 11 and X involving the mixed-lineage leukemia and septin 2 genes is associated with a form of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia.
This gene encodes four transcript variants producing three distinct isoforms; an additional variant has been identified but its biological validity remains undetermined.
