Target Information
Estrogen Receptors (ER)은 스테로이드/갑상선 호르몬 수용체 초가족에 속하는 핵 수용체로, 에스트로겐 결합 시 형태 변화와 이합체화를 통해 DNA의 Estrogen Response Element(ERE)에 결합합니다.
이 결합은 전사 조절 인자(coactivator 또는 corepressor) 단백질의 모집을 통해 유전자 발현을 조절합니다.
ER은 α(ESR1)와 β(ESR2) 두 형태로 존재하며, α형은 최소 4가지 아이소폼(66, 53, 47, 35 kDa)이 알려져 있습니다.
에스트로겐 수용체는 다양한 조직에서 발현되며, 성적 발달, 생식 기능, 골 형성 등에 필수적입니다. 또한 유방암, 자궁내막암, 골다공증 등 병리적 과정에도 관여합니다.
