This antibody detects endogenous levels of total HES2.
Target Information
Transcription factor HES-2, a member of the HES family of proteins, contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain and one orange domain. It is expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells and may play a role in their differentiation. Activation of the Notch signaling pathway leads to activation of HES family genes through the interaction between the Notch intracellular domain and RBPSUH (CSL). HES family proteins are mammalian homologs of Drosophila Hairy and Enhancer of split, and are implicated in cell fate determination of stem or precursor cells by suppressing tissue-specific transcriptional activators.
