For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.

Target Information

Variant histone specifically required for transforming dissociating nucleosomes to protamine in male germ cells. It replaces classical histone H2B prior to the nucleosome-to-protamine transition and likely acts as a nucleosome dissociating factor, facilitating dynamic chromatin remodeling. Also expressed maternally and present in the female pronucleus, suggesting a role in protamine replacement by nucleosomes during fertilization. Found in fat cells, though its specific function and post-translational modifications remain unclear.
As a core component of the nucleosome, it contributes to DNA packaging into chromatin, regulating DNA accessibility for transcription, repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
