Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MDM2 is a ubiquitin ligase for p53 and plays a central role in regulating p53 stability.
Located on chromosome 12q, MDM2 activity is modulated by Akt-mediated phosphorylation at Ser166 and Ser186, enhancing its interaction with p300 and promoting p53 ubiquitination and degradation.
Phosphorylation also prevents MDM2 binding to p19ARF, further increasing p53 degradation.
Overexpression of MDM2 can inactivate p53, reducing its tumor suppressor function.
MDM2 is involved in apoptosis and cell cycle regulation and is overexpressed in various human malignancies, including soft tissue carcinomas and breast cancer.
It interacts with proteins such as retinoblastoma 1 and ribosomal protein L5.
More than 40 alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified in both tumor and normal tissues.
