Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene acts as a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and a ligand-activated transcription factor. It is initially located in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex and translocates to the nucleus upon ligand binding. This protein regulates expression of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes and can bind specifically to and inhibit the activity of hepatitis B virus.
