The Human TREM-2 Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures TREM-2 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex™ xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. Only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously on a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

The Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create unique spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Each bead is conjugated with antibodies specific to a single target protein. Bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, ProcartaPlex assays use bead-conjugated capture antibodies that remain free-floating in solution. Detection is performed using dual lasers—one for bead identification and another for quantifying RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration. This enables profiling of more targets with less sample volume and time.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for multiple species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, canine).
