Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water.
  • Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
  • The peptide is homologous in rat and human.
  • Specificity: GLRA1.

Target Information

GLRA1 encodes a subunit of the pentameric inhibitory glycine receptor, which mediates postsynaptic inhibition in the central nervous system.
Defects in GLRA1 cause startle disease (STHE), also known as hereditary hyperekplexia or congenital stiff-person syndrome.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Glycine receptors (GlyR) containing GLRA1 belong to the cys-loop family of ligand-gated ion channels and are responsible for mediating inhibitory glycine effects.
GLRA1 is widely distributed in the CNS, especially in the hippocampus, spinal cord, and brain stem.
Diseases associated with GLRA1 include Hereditary Hyperekplexia 1.
