Target Information
RAB5 belongs to the small GTPase Rab family, key regulators of intracellular membrane trafficking. They control vesicle formation, movement, tethering, and fusion by cycling between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states.
RAB5A is essential for plasma membrane and early endosome fusion, regulates filopodia extension, exosomal release of SDCBP, CD63, PDCD6IP, syndecan, and maturation of apoptotic cell-containing phagosomes downstream of DYN2 and PIK3C3.
