Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif (F-box).
F-box proteins are subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:

1. Fbws – containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls – containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs – containing various protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The FBXO6 protein belongs to the Fbxs class, and its C-terminal region is highly similar to rat NFB42 (neural F Box 42 kDa), which may be involved in cell cycle control.
