Target Information
STAG2 is a component of the cohesin complex, which is essential for sister chromatid cohesion after DNA replication. The cohesin complex forms a large ring-like structure that traps sister chromatids. During anaphase, the complex is cleaved to allow chromatid segregation. It may also contribute to spindle pole assembly during mitosis.
