Target Information
The BAG6 gene is located within the human major histocompatibility complex class III region. It encodes a nuclear protein cleaved by caspase 3 and involved in apoptosis regulation. BAG6 forms a complex with E1A binding protein p300 and is required for p53 acetylation in response to DNA damage. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
