Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx) is a growing peroxidase family involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Mammalian Prx includes six members grouped into typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, and 1-Cys Prx classes.
Prx I, II, and VI are found in the cytosol, Prx III in mitochondria, Prx IV in the ER and secretory pathways, while Prx V has a complex distribution including peroxisome, mitochondria, and cytosol.
These proteins (20–30 kDa) exhibit thiol-specific antioxidant activity and play key roles in redox regulation.
