Product Specific Information
- Membrane permeabilization is required for flow cytometry applications.
- For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
- Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water. After reconstitution, store undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
- Rat anti-Mouse CD68 antibody (clone FA-11) recognizes mouse macrosialin, a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein and murine homolog of human CD68.
- CD68 is classified as a scavenger receptor family member due to its LAMP-like domain.
Target Information
CD68 (Macrosialin) is a 110 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed in lysosomes of monocytes and macrophages, and to a lesser extent in dendritic cells and granulocytes.
It plays a role in phagocytic activities and is expressed in various tissues and malignancies including AML and granulocytic sarcoma.
Elevated CD68 expression is observed in CD34+ cells in several human malignancies.
