Target Information
SLC38A3 is a sodium-dependent amino acid/proton antiporter that mediates electrogenic cotransport of glutamine and sodium ions in exchange for protons. It also recognizes histidine, asparagine, and alanine. This transporter may mediate amino acid transport bidirectionally under physiological conditions and plays roles in nitrogen metabolism and synaptic transmission.
