For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) are enzymes that remove phosphate groups from phosphorylated tyrosine residues on proteins. Along with tyrosine kinases, they regulate the phosphorylation state of key signaling molecules such as the MAP kinase family.
Dual specificity phosphatases (DSPs), a subclass of PTPs, selectively dephosphorylate phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues. The prototypical DSP is the VH1 gene in vaccinia virus, expressed during late-stage infection.
VHR’s shallow active site pocket allows hydrolysis of phosphorylated serine, threonine, or tyrosine residues, while the deeper active site of PTPs restricts specificity to phosphotyrosine.
