Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histone H3, including phosphorylation at Thr11, influence chromatin structure and gene expression by altering binding affinities for transcription factors.
