- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Target Information
This gene encodes the beta subunit of luteinizing hormone (LH), a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family.
Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and a unique beta subunit conferring biological specificity.
LH is expressed in the pituitary gland and promotes spermatogenesis and ovulation by stimulating steroid synthesis in testes and ovaries.
The genes for the beta chains of chorionic gonadotropin and luteinizing hormone are contiguous on chromosome 19q13.3.
Mutations in this gene are associated with hypogonadism, characterized by infertility and pseudohermaphroditism.
