Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
YBX1 binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA and regulates splice site selection. It stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA and modulates translation by influencing mRNA–eukaryotic initiation factor interactions.
This protein also binds promoters containing a Y-box (5’-CTGATTGGCCAA-3’), such as HLA class II genes, and regulates transcription of numerous genes.
YBX1 promotes separation of mismatched or cisplatin-modified DNA strands, exhibits endonucleolytic activity introducing nicks or breaks into double-stranded DNA (in vitro), and may play a role in DNA repair.
