Target Information
The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit predominantly expressed in the central nervous system. It exists in two forms: one found in the brain (~39 kDa) and another in the retina (~44 kDa). Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a regulator of G protein signaling, forming complexes localized to most brain regions. Gb1–4 subunits do not colocalize with RGS7 despite similar neuronal distribution.
This antibody targets a peptide sequence within the D1 blade, which is absent in Gb1–4.
