Target Information

ROS1 is a tyrosine kinase that functions as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. Protein kinases transfer a phosphate group from ATP to substrate proteins, mediating most eukaryotic signal transduction pathways. They regulate metabolism, transcription, cell cycle, cytoskeletal organization, apoptosis, and differentiation.

The protein kinase family includes over 500 gene products, classified into 8 major groups based on their catalytic domain sequences (PTK or STK). The tyrosine kinase group primarily regulates cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. Approximately 90 tyrosine kinase genes have been sequenced, including receptor types (e.g., EGFR, FGFR, PDGFR) and cytosolic types (e.g., ABL, JAK, SRC).
