Cyclin F는 세포 주기 전이를 조절하는 사이클린 패밀리 단백질로, Cyclin-dependent kinase를 활성화하는 역할을 합니다. 또한 F-box 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 약 40개의 아미노산으로 구성된 F-box 모티프를 특징으로 합니다. F-box 단백질은 SCF 복합체(SKP1–Cullin–F-box)의 구성요소로, 인산화 의존적 유비퀴틴화에 관여합니다. F-box 단백질은 구조적 특징에 따라 Fbws(contains WD-40 domains), Fbls(contains leucine-rich repeats), Fbxs(contains other domains or none)로 분류됩니다. Cyclin F는 Fbxs 클래스에 속하며, F-box 모티프가 처음 확인된 단백질 중 하나입니다.
