Target Information
IL-1 receptor associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases involved in signaling via Toll/IL-1 pathways. IRAK1 is rapidly recruited by MYD88 to the receptor-signaling complex upon TLR activation. Its association with MYD88 leads to phosphorylation by IRAK4 and subsequent autophosphorylation and kinase activation. IRAK1 can also phosphorylate TIRAP, promoting its ubiquitination and degradation, and phosphorylate IRF7, inducing its activation and nuclear translocation. This results in transcriptional activation of type I interferon genes, driving the cell into an antiviral state.
