Target Information
CSK is a tyrosine kinase that downregulates SRC oncoprotein activity through phosphorylation of its carboxy terminus. Dysregulation of this phosphorylation can lead to cell transformation, suggesting CSK functions as an antioncogene. It plays key roles in cell growth, differentiation, migration, and immune response regulation.
CSK phosphorylates tyrosine residues in the C-terminal tails of Src-family kinases such as LCK, SRC, HCK, FYN, LYN, and YES1. It is expressed ubiquitously as a ~50 kDa cytosolic protein, with partial localization to lipid rafts via interaction with PAG (Csk-binding protein).
