PLCB3는 phosphoinositide phospholipase C beta 효소 패밀리에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, G-단백질 연결 수용체 매개 신호전달에서 phosphatidylinositol로부터 diacylglycerol(DAG)과 inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate(IP3)를 생성하는 역할을 합니다.
대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 전사체 변이체가 생성됩니다.
