Target Information

The protein encoded by the RNF34 gene contains a RINF finger domain, a motif involved in protein–protein and protein–DNA interactions. It interacts with DNAJA3/hTid-1, a DnaJ protein known to modulate apoptosis. Overexpression in HeLa cells confers resistance to TNF-alpha–induced apoptosis, indicating an anti-apoptotic role. RNF34 can be cleaved by caspase-3 during apoptosis, and alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
