Thyroid Receptor alpha, Ligand Binding Domain (THRA LBD) is a 57.90 kDa recombinant human protein (amino acids 148–410) expressed as a GST-tagged fusion protein in baculovirus-infected insect cells.
THRA LBD was expressed and purified in the absence of exogenous ligands, making it ideal for ligand binding and coregulator displacement studies.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine. It is one of several receptors for thyroid hormone and mediates the biological activities of thyroid hormone.
Knockout studies in mice suggest that the different receptors, while having certain redundancy, may mediate distinct thyroid hormone functions.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
