Target Information
MAP4K5 (also known as KHS1) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the GCK family, functioning as an upstream regulator of MAP kinase signaling pathways. In yeast, SPS1/STE20 acts early in the MAP kinase cascade essential for pheromone response. In mammalian cells, MAP4K5 activates Jun kinase, indicating a role in stress response. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
