Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve approximately 1 mg/mL antibody concentration.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Secretory carrier membrane proteins (SCAMPs) are components of post-Golgi membranes and are implicated in membrane trafficking.
In fibroblasts, SCAMPs are concentrated in compartments involved in recycling of cell surface receptors and endocytosis.
In neurons, SCAMPs associate with synaptic vesicles, secretion granules, and transporter vesicles.
SCAMPs contain four central transmembrane regions and a cytoplasmic tail.
Of the five known SCAMPs, SCAMPs 1–3 have cytoplasmic N-terminal regions with NPF repeats, which interact with EH domain proteins involved in vesicle budding from the plasma membrane or Golgi complex.
SCAMPs 4 and 5 lack NPF repeats. SCAMPs 1–4 are ubiquitously expressed, while SCAMP 5 is brain-specific and expressed late in development, coinciding with mature synapse expansion.
