MAGEB1 유전자는 MAGEB 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 이들 유전자는 마지막 엑손에 전체 코딩 서열이 위치하고 단백질 간 50~68%의 서열 유사성을 보입니다. 프로모터와 첫 번째 엑손의 다양성으로 인해 동일한 기능이 서로 다른 전사 조절 하에서 발현될 수 있습니다. MAGEB1은 Xp22-p21 염색체 영역에 위치하며, 고환 및 다양한 조직학적 유형의 종양에서 발현됩니다. 여러 대체 스플라이싱 변이가 보고되었으나 일부의 전체 길이는 정의되지 않았습니다.
