Target Information
The JMJD6 gene encodes a nuclear protein containing a JmjC domain. JmjC domain-containing proteins are predicted to act as protein hydroxylases or histone demethylases. Initially identified as a potential phosphatidylserine receptor involved in apoptotic cell phagocytosis, later studies have questioned this role. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
