이 단백질은 소형 GTPase인 CDC42와 RAC1의 하위 효과기로 작용하며, 활성화된 CDC42 및 RAC1의 결합에 의해 구조적 변화와 자가 인산화가 유도됩니다.
PAK2는 세포 생존과 성장 촉진에 기여하며, PAK 단백질군은 Rho GTPase를 세포골격 재구성 및 핵 신호전달과 연결하는 중요한 효과기 역할을 합니다.
