Target Information
This protein belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) family of transcription factors. It functions as a transcriptional repressor of genes requiring a bHLH protein for transcription. The protein has a specific basic domain containing a helix-interrupting motif that binds to the N-box rather than the canonical E-box.
