Target Information
CHD8 is a DNA helicase that functions as a chromatin remodeling factor and transcription regulator. It acts as a transcription repressor by remodeling chromatin structure and recruiting histone H1 to target genes. CHD8 suppresses p53/TP53-mediated apoptosis by recruiting histone H1 and preventing p53/TP53 transactivation. It negatively regulates the Wnt signaling pathway by modulating beta-catenin (CTNNB1) activity and repressing CTNNB1-targeted gene expression. Additionally, CHD8 interacts with CTCF for enhancer blocking and epigenetic remodeling and suppresses STAT3 activity while activating transcription through interaction with ZNF143 in U6 RNA polymerase III transcription.
